Lyndon Poskett

Malle Moto: The Forgotten Story

At first glance, this may seem like just another self-promotional clip related to Dakar, but I encourage you to take a closer look. The Malle Moto category has nearly vanished, overshadowed by factory teams and wealthy sponsorships. However, the true spirit of what Dakar used to represent—and still should—lives on in the Malle Moto group. This segment rarely gets coverage because it lacks the backing of large corporations. I urge you to watch this film; you’ll be inspired by Lyndon Poskitt’s incredible story.

Additionally, Lyndon’s “Races To Places” series is worth binging. Start at the beginning!

Austin Vince

Long Way Down

This series is responsible for more GS purchases than anything shot to film. Just watch it and buy a GS.

If you haven’t watched this yet, what are you waiting for?

You can binge-watch Long Way Down and Long Way Up after finishing this first adventure on your couch.

The Warhorse

Adam Riemann

This is a story that resonates with many of us. While Adam is an exceptional rider, the story itself is quite straightforward. Just buy an old motorcycle and embark on an adventure—it's really that simple. You don't need a $25,000 bike or a bunch of fancy accessories to make it happen, and this short film serves as evidence of that principle.

Noraly Schoenmaker - Itchy Boots

Solo: Patagonia - Alaska

A truly inspiring season recap film, Noraly rides her little bike from Patagonia to Alaska solo. In this 65,000 KM adventure, she faced myriad challenges all the while filming this interesting and informative story.

Noraly is a female solo traveler on a mission to explore the world by motorcycle. In 2018, she made the bold decision to quit her job as a geologist. After selling her belongings, she left the Netherlands to embark on her travels.

Charley Boorman

Race To Dakar

Produced in the same style and by the same crew as the entire “Long Way…” series, Charley once again embodies a badass, brotherly, and gentlemanly spirit. By about episode 3, you begin to understand the challenges of completing the Dakar Rally, even when the goal is simply to finish the event.

This series is easy to binge-watch. Consider reading the book of the same title for a more in-depth exploration and to gain insight into Charley’s perspective.

Richard De Aragues

Closer to the Edge

In June 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to ride the legendary Mountain Course on the Isle of Man. During that trip, I experienced the thrill of riding alongside some truly fearless individuals. The sensation of being passed at over 300 kph on a public road, surrounded by the island’s mountains, is an unparalleled experience.

This film features Guy Martin, which is reason enough to watch it—he's an absolute legend. Additionally, it showcases the motivations of motorcycle racers who participate each year in the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy, known as the most dangerous and deadliest event in the sport. As of January 2025, a total of 269 people have lost their lives in the Isle of Man TT races since 1907. This figure includes deaths that occurred during the Manx Grand Prix and Clubman TT races.

Anthony Hopkins

The Worlds Fastest Indian

This is a high-budget film that can be enjoyed by people who are not as passionate about bikes as you are. The story follows New Zealander Burt Munro, who spent years rebuilding a 1920 Indian motorcycle. His dedication led him to set the land-speed world record at Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats in 1967.

Bryan Carroll

Why We Ride

"Why We Ride" is an inspiring documentary that celebrates the passion of the motorcycling community. It highlights the camaraderie among friends and families who ride together. Through the stories of various racers, riders, pioneers, and parents involved in the sport, the film explores generations of motorcyclists who embrace life to the fullest on their two-wheeled machines. With its uplifting message about the joys of motorcycling and stunning state-of-the-art photography from 2013, the film captivates the imagination and stirs the soul.

Michael McGowan

One Week

You'll need three fingers of good Canadian whisky for this film, at least for the first act anyway. At its core, it's not just an examination of sudden mortality; it's also a motorcycle travel film. Moreover, it serves as a cautionary tale urging you to "get out on your bike NOW, not tomorrow." Canadians will appreciate the rare spotlight on their homeland. So grab your drink and watch this film, and don’t let the message fall on deaf ears.

Jeff Nichols

The Bike Riders

While this isn't an adventure motorcycle film, the American motorcycle club remains endlessly fascinating to all riders.

“the ‘Godfather’ of Biker Movies… It goes a long way to humanize figures who’ve been long misrepresented on film, while giving audiences privileged access to this inner world.”

Daniel Rintz

Somewhere Else Tomorrow

**Somewhere Else Tomorrow** - A daydreamer sets off on a motorcycle journey around the world, relying solely on the money he earns along the way until he discovers something he never expected to find.

Daniel embarked on a quest to circumnavigate the globe with little more than a motorbike and a dream. After 946 days, he arrived in New Zealand. *Somewhere Else Tomorrow* tells the extraordinary story of his travels, during which he supports himself by working as he goes. The journey is filled with unforgettable places, sights, and experiences. Most importantly, it highlights the people he meets along the way – including the girl for whom he decides to give everything up.

Dennis Lee Hopper

Easy Rider

Wyatt (played by Peter Fonda) and Billy (played by Dennis Hopper) are two Harley-riding hippies who complete a drug deal in Southern California. They decide to ride cross-country in search of spiritual truth. Throughout their travels, they encounter bigotry and hatred from the residents of small-town America, as well as meet other travelers who are seeking alternative lifestyles. You can cut and paste this story onto the description onto Rambo, First Blood.

These days, you're more likely to engage in conversations with older individuals at the gas station reminiscing about "back in my day," rather than receiving disdain from strangers. This aspect might be part of what makes watching this classic biker film so compelling. Many would argue that this film is the original biker movie, capturing a snapshot of an era in American history that will never be replicated.

László Benedek

The Wild One

Another classic, to be sure. It's not for everyone, but if you enjoy American classics and motorcycles, this may be perfect for you.

Johnny (Marlon Brando) and his motorcycle gang roll into Carbonville for a biker competition and raise enough hell to get kicked out of town. They repair to nearby Wrightsville and continue their reign of terror. The local sheriff (Robert Keith) is helpless to stop them, but when a rival gang arrives, he manages to arrest their leader, Chino (Lee Marvin). Meanwhile, Johnny finds himself attracted to the sheriff's daughter, Kathie (Mary Murphy), and decides to stick around.
